WEST COUNTRY CELEBRANT

WEDDING and RENEWAL of VOWS CELEBRANT

What is a Wedding & Renewal of Vows Celebrant?

Celebrants are not widely known in the UK but have been in existence for over 40yrs. With a Celebrant in charge you can hold the ceremony exactly how and where you want with a unique service created for YOU.

In England, Scotland and Wales you must be legally married first in the Registry office, then you are free to design the wedding ceremony of your dreams in your garden, on a beach with a romantic sunset, in a bluebell wood or indeed anywhere that is important to you (subject to the property/land owners or managers permission). You are limited only by your imagination.

Your service can be as traditional, original or surprising as you like.

The service in the registry office is very short and is just to sign legal paperwork prior to the wedding part of the service.

You will be asked two questions:

1. Declaration Words

I do solemnly declare that I know not of any lawful impediment why (your name) may not be joined in matrimony to (partners name)

2. Contracting Words:

I call up these persons here present to witness that I (your name) do take thee (partners’ name) to be my lawful wedded wife (husband)

The rest of the service including the exchange of rings and vows to one another is pure ceremonial and can therefore take place in ANY location and at ANY time of day or night.

If you can visit the Registry office mid week you will find it is a fraction of the cost than if you do it on a weekend. All you will need is 2 witnesses. Save your ring ceremony and exchange of vows for your actual wedding ceremony.

If you want freedom, flexibility and choice for a personalized service a Professional Celebrant can provide this. Exchange vows/words with your partner which otherwise would be restricted.

VOWS:

I can help you write your new or renewal vows to each other. We can either do this together or separately so your partner hears them for the first time on the day.

If you want freedom, flexibility and choice for a unique and personalised service – throw the rule book out and let’s change the ‘standard’ format and get creating to reflect who you two really are!

I am happy to include the reading of Prayers and Hymns in the service but will not confer any form of Religious Blessing as celebrants are not ordained.

Wedding Ceremony:
£450
to include initial meeting, all email correspondence, writing of service and exchange of drafts, officiating your ceremony, and travel costs up to 30 miles round trip. For any mileage over 30 miles (round trip)  45p per mile will be charged.

Renewal of Vows

£350 to include initial meeting, all email correspondence, writing of service and exchange of drafts, officiating your ceremony, and travel costs up to 30 miles round trip. For any mileage over 30 miles (round trip)  45p per mile will be charged.

Caution:

At the moment the Celebrancy Profession in the UK is un-regulated and some Celebrants are self taught.

Care should be taken to use a Celebrant holding a valid Certificate.

NOTE:

A celebrant service is only legal when the couple have previously been married in church or by a Registrar. I always check the couple's legal certificate prior to our part of the service.

BABY NAMING

Why use this over a Christening?

Why do you need a Celebrant?

Maybe you are not religious or don’t feel that you can make a commitment on behalf of your child, or that members of the chosen Guardians are not religious which is generally a pre requisite for a christening.

It doesn’t matter what age your child is, if you choose the Celebrant route of creating your own ceremony, siblings, family, friends and even the child can be part of this process. The question of religion can be left to the child at a later date, but now you are welcoming your child into the fold and conferring a chosen loved name upon them.

Baby Naming Ceremony:
£300
to include initial meeting, all email correspondence, writing of service and exchange of drafts, officiating your child's ceremony, and travel costs up to 30 miles round trip. For any mileage over 30 miles (round trip)  45p per mile will be charged.
